Who are we?

We are Nancy Vanhoucke and Wilko Kuipers and have been the owners of Woodstock Palmresort Curaçao since March 15, 2023. We were on the island for the first time in 2015 and it was immediately clear that we would come here more often. The island, the wilderness, the tranquility, the relaxed people, the beaches with delicious food and drinks, the snorkeling, the touring to all the beautiful places, we couldn't get enough of it. And especially the always high temperatures and the Dutch-speaking population. A piece of the Netherlands in the Caribbean, because really, walk into Van den Tweel (the Curaçao AH) and you think you are in the Netherlands.

During our trip in November 2021, Wilko indicated that after his functional retirement from the fire brigade (which is an obligation, you cannot remain a firefighter until you are 67) he would like to emigrate to Curacao and whether I wanted that too. After some discussions we made the decision and started working vigorously. For Nancy it meant applying for Dutch citizenship, which became a reality on January 14, 2022, and for both of us it meant investigating what are we going to do then, because just sitting on the beach is no longer that fun after three months. For Nancy from a funeral director to receiving people at the resort with the associated administration and for Wilko from a firefighter to ensuring that everything is technically in order at the resort and pampering the guests with a firm massage. Because of our different personalities and skills we complement each other perfectly. We have stood in front of hot fires together (we met each other in the fire brigade) and we feel that after 20 years together we can take on the whole world.
